The Makonde 4 sleeps four yet provides plenty of space for sheltered relaxing in the large vestibule area or beneath door awnings (a set of awning poles is included and a zip-in vestibule floor is available as an optional extra). If preferred, removing the inner tent divider creates a single large sleeping compartment. The logical pole system and speedy ring-and-pin method of inner tent attachment mean you can pitch the Makonde 4 remarkably quickly for such a spacious tent.
The tunnel shape maximises living space - you can stand upright inside - while providing a stable defence against rough weather. Having three outer doors allows you to create excellent flow-through ventilation, even after closing one to shelter against the prevailing wind. It also means you can come and go easily without stumbling over cooking kit. The large combination windows double as ventilation panels. They can also be zippered closed for privacy.
